ABOUT THE AUTHOR
My name is Paulo Sergio Einsfeld , and I have been a pastor in the Evangelical Lutheran Church (IECLB) for 30 years. We live and work in Nova Petrópolis, RS. Married to Liane, a teacher with catechetical training, we are the parents of Priscila and Poliana. I see myself as a student of the Word in two senses: in the contemplative reading of the Bible, the Word of God revealed to and among human beings; and also as a learner of words when I express, in human writing, in poetry, prose, and sermons, perceptions and experiences illuminated by the Holy Scriptures.
I have learned to value a healthy emotional and relational spirituality. Tools from Family Therapy, Pastoral Psychology, and Psychopedagogy have broadened my horizons to the complexity of the human being. This human being, complex and contradictory, yet profoundly loved, is what I wish to reach through my ministry, particularly with this collection.
ABOUT THE WORK
Student of the Word This collection brings together 25 devotional reflections and poems . The devotionals, initially written for radio programs, are also accompanied by poems by the author and photographs by Poliana Einsfeld .
